Samah Elzahaby

Samah Elzahaby is a Certified English-to-Arabic Translator with more than 25 years of experience in translation, interpreting, and language services. She is also a Certified Court Interpreter and Certified Community Interpreter (Arabic ↔ English), an Associate Arabic-to-English Translator, and an Associate Medical Interpreter (Arabic ↔ English).

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Al-Alsun (Languages), Ain Shams University in Cairo, where she studied translation and linguistics from 1994 to 1998.

Samah began her professional career in 1998, translating materials in information technology, economics, marketing, and educational, scientific, and social research. She has also translated a wide range of legal and personal documents, including contracts, birth and marriage certificates, identity cards, driver’s licences, and passports. Over the years, she has translated and co-translated several books between English and Arabic.

In 2007, she expanded her work into simultaneous and consecutive interpreting in legal, business, and conference settings. Since settling in Canada, she has worked as a Court, Medical, and Community Interpreter for more than ten years. In 2026, she earned ATIA’s Certified Court Interpreter and Certified Community Interpreter designations.

حصلت سماح على درجة البكالوريوس من كلية الألسن، جامعة عين شمس بالقاهرة، حيث درست الترجمة واللغويات والآداب الانجليزية والعربية والفرنسية من عام 1994 إلى عام 1998.

بدأت مسيرتها المهنية عام 1998 في ترجمة مواد متنوعة تشمل تكنولوجيا المعلومات، والاقتصاد، والتسويق، والأبحاث التعليمية والاجتماعية والعلمية، إلى جانب ترجمة العقود والمستندات القانونية والشخصية، مثل شهادات الميلاد والزواج، وبطاقات الهوية، ورخص القيادة، وجوازات السفر. كما ترجمت وشاركت في ترجمة عدة كتب بين اللغتين العربية والإنجليزية.

وفي عام 2007، توسّع عملها ليشمل الترجمة الشفوية التتبعية والفورية في المجالات القانونية والتجارية والمؤتمرات. ومنذ استقرارها في كندا، عملت لأكثر من عشر سنوات في الترجمة الشفوية في المحاكم والمجالين الطبي والمجتمعي. وفي عام 2026، حصلت على اعتماد جمعية مترجمي ألبرتا التحريريين والشفويين (ATIA) كمترجمة شفوية معتمدة في المحاكم والمجتمع.
