Kara Stelfox

As a Certified French-to-English translator and founder of Stelfox Wordcraft, I work skillfully on a variety of documents, including those from the education, marketing, medical, government, and human resources domains.

In addition to completing 13 years of French immersion schooling, I earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) and a Master of Arts in Human Kinetics before studying translation. After my studies, I worked full time for several years as an in-house translator with the Anglocom division of TRSB Inc. before launching my freelance language services business.

Prior to becoming a translator, I worked for 10 years as a Mental Performance Consultant (MPC) with athletes from the provincial to Olympic level. I was also a corporate trainer for 5 years, facilitating in-person and virtual workshops on personal resilience to a variety of companies in Canada, the U.S., and England. I bring those people- and performance-focused skills to bear in my work as a translator by partnering with clients to assess their needs and deliver solutions.
