Step by Step Instructions on how to get in contact with a Translator or Interpreter:

Complete the following portions of ‘Directory Form Fields’ below (do not fill in all fields).  Only enter a first or last name if you know the first or last name of an ATIA Translator or Interpreter.  No need to enter a city for translations as they will be processed electronically.

  • Select “Source Language” use the dropdown menu to choose the language of the document or spoken word.
  • Select “Target language” use the dropdown menu to choose the language you wish the document or spoken word to be in.
  • Select “Membership Category” use the dropdown menu to choose whether you require a Translator or Interpreter (type of interpreter).
  • Select “Tier” use the dropdown menu to specify whether you require a certified or associate level Translator or Interpreter.

Certified Translator / Certified Interpreter: Have passed the national certification
process. They have successfully completed the certification exam set by the Canadian
Translators, Terminologists and Interpreter Council (CTTIC) or submitted a large body
of their work to an evaluation committee.

Associate Translator / Associate Interpreter: Translators with limited experience or
training that will complete the certification process in the future.

If you run into issues, please check our FAQs or contact us today.  Note: If the directory does not contain a professional in your desired language combination, we suggest that you continue your search by browsing the directory of the other provincial associations.
