Hellen Martínez is a Spanish ↔ English Certified Translator with extensive experience in technical, legal, marketing, commercial, policy, and personal translation.
With nearly 30 years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting from Ricardo Palma University, Hellen has served a wide range of clients in Canada and internationally as a certified translator, interpreter (consecutive and simultaneous), facilitator, and team leader.
Throughout her career, Hellen has collaborated with government agencies, private corporations, and individual clients, delivering high-quality translation and interpreting services across multiple sectors. Her major projects include leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale engineering and technical translation projects, collectively delivering millions of words of highly specialized content into Spanish.
Hellen also holds a Marketing Management Certificate from the University of Calgary and a Professional Editing Certificate from Mount Royal University. Her background in management and project coordination has enabled her to successfully lead multilingual and multidisciplinary teams across diverse industries. From 2018 to 2020, she served as the official Spanish translator for the Government of Alberta, having been selected through a rigorous competitive process involving more than 80 candidates. She is currently the Managing Director of ETS Translation Solutions, where she leads a multilingual team working across more than 40 language combinations.
Hellen currently serves as President of ATIA. She first became certified in 2004 and subsequently served as Vice-President South from 2006 to 2011, President from 2011 to 2016, and Past President from 2016 to 2017.
